Stronger plants with Bal-Co GreenLine chabazite zeolite
Rooting is a very important process in floriculture, as it permits cuttings to propagate successfully for later potting.
Some plants that are particularly problematic in this sense are the Camelia (C. japonica L, Camellia sasanqu, Camellia hiemalis) and the Protea; in fact, the percentage of cuttings that actually manage to root at the right time for obtaining quality plantlets that will be able to survive in pots, is decidedly low.
In order to study and deal with this issue Dott. Prisa and the CRA-VIV of Pescia (PT) have begun research which, for the cultivation of cuttings, uses particular volcanic rocks: chabazite zeolites that are entirely natural and permitted in floriculture and organic farming.
This work, which started in 2013, has shown truly significant results; indeed, the extent of the positive effect that chabazite has on biometric parameters of rooting in Camelia and Leucospermum cuttings has become clear.
Bal-Co GreenLine chabazite Zeolite (ZEM70 and ZEP70) can therefore be effective in nurseries as once these minerals have been introduced to the cultivation substrata or open field, they can optimise plant growth. Indeed, they are able to store and slowly release water and fertilizers; they are easy to use and are not dangerous to humans or the environment.
